Last weekend both the Senior Men and Women were in league action and both were defeated against strong opposition.
On Saturday the Men’s 1st XV travelled to play Oxford Harlequins 2nd XV in their latest league match with a much changed side due to injuries.
It was always going to be one of the hardest matches of the season as Oxford Harlequins are unbeaten and top of Tribute Southern Counties North.
The game kicked off in good conditions and it became evident that Oxford Harlequins were a strong well drilled side with over half their side already played National 2 League action for their 1st XV.
Although the half time was 24 nil to the home side, Windsor appeared to still be in the match as they had played some good rugby. When they were 12 nil down they had the opportunity to score but the attack was repelled by the home side who quickly scored a try of their own.
When the game restarted Windsor scored two quick tries without reply from Gareth Gibson and Liam Mackay and it looked as though Windsor had a chance of getting back into the match.
Injuries, however, started to take their toll in what was a very competitive and physical match. For a short period they were down to 14 players due to injury.
Despite the final score line being a home win for Oxford Harlequins 2nd XV by 53 points to 19, the players deserve plenty of credit for the way the played.
Final Score Oxford Harlequins 2nd XV 53 Point Windsor 1st XV 19 Points.
PARFITT CRESSWELL PLAYER OF THE MATCH – CHRIS REDPATH.
On Sunday the Senior Women travelled to Ruislip RFC Women in their latest NC2 South East ( North West) League Match looking to continue their unbeaten run.
Against a strong Ruislip side, Windsor Dames were defeated by 24 points to 15.

Captain’s Log: Windsor Dames VS Ruislip RFC Women
We caught up with our captain, Jess, for her thoughts on the match…
“We put in a massive shift today against Ruislip. Despite ultimately losing, the fact that we held up so many tries really shows the commitment on the pitch today.
It was gritty and there was some fantastic game play being made. Of course, there are always parts we can do better, we will take that away with us and work on in training.
I know for a fact that every single player’s body hurts and that goes to show that everyone has given their 100% today.
As a captain, that’s all I can ask of this team.”
