Last weekend rugby activities were limited to Sunday morning as neither the Senior Men and Women had games.
However it was still a busy weekend at Windsor RFC.
On Friday lunchtime the Club held its inaugural Business Networking Event. The event was a success and there will be second event in June which will include some of the learning points from the first event. The initiative has positive benefits as it will enable the Club to support local businesses as well as helping to develop commercial arrangements with them.
With the club facing increased operating costs commercial income is becoming increasingly important so that we can invest on and off the field for the benefit of all sections of the club
The club will be launching sponsorship opportunities shortly for the 2025/2026 season.
Saturday it was ‘Super Saturday’ which was well supported by all sections of the club. The atmosphere in the club was excellent. The bar and kitchen were open and the attendees were entertained by Penny Brass, featuring the Men’s 1st XV Prop Forward Billy Porter. Bandara was also presented with his Volunteer of the Month Award for all his hard work refereeing Junior matches on a Sunday morning at Windsor RFC.
The good news is that Penny Brass will be returning to Windsor RFC on Saturday 5th April 2025 when the Men’s 1st and Dev XVs play their last league match of a successful season.
Home Park was quiet on Sunday with the Minis being away at Ealing and Reading Abbey. The U14s had a friendly against Newbury and the U13s had Berkshire Cup games away at Bracknell.
The Damsels had a joint training session with West Berkshire Warriors and remaining age groups were training.
