A great advert for Women’s Rugby at Windsor RFC.

Last Saturday the Men’s First XV travelled to Sunbury to play London Irish Wild Geese in their latest Regional Thames 2 League Match looking for their first win of the season after losing to Harpenden the previous week.

With a side boosted by club stalwart Colin Thomson, who has returned to Windsor RFC, for a second spell after leaving RAMs, the return of Noah London Hobbs in the back row and an unchanged back line there was good reason to be optimistic.

Windsor started well and after pressure inside the London Irish 22 metre and a few missed chances Windsor opened the scoring when Allen Crawshaw went over the line and converted by Ben Grant- Adamson. Windsor went on to score a second try through Joe Triegaardt with London Irish scoring with a try of their own in a close first half.

At half time the score was 12 points to 7 to Windsor and from touchline it was clear that the going to be a close game.

Although Irish in the second half opened the scoring and then scored a second try to lead by 17 points to 12, Windsor were always in the game.
The final quarter of the game Windsor scored 2 more tries, one through Joe Triegaardt , who scored his second try and Kieran Ghafadgi, which was the fourth and the bonus point try to enable Windsor to secure their first league win of the season, much to the delight of the travelling supporters.

FINAL SCORE: London Irish 17, Windsor 26

PARFITT CRESSWELL PLAYER OF THE MATCH: NOAH LONDON-HOBBS.

The Men’s Dev XV travelled to Farnham Royal to play their latest OBB Counties 3 League match and in a close game lost by 19 points to 17.
