Following a review of the Club’s finances and looking at the budget for the 2024/2025 season, the General Management Committee have agreed that it will be necessary to increase the annual subscriptions for the coming season.

This decision has not been taken lightly but is necessary to help cover the increase in costs that the club is facing on and off the field.

Since COVID the General Management Committee decided not to increase annual subscriptions to enable the Club to recover and grow its playing sections across the club. With the rising costs being faced which include Pitch Fees ( a minimum 100% increase but still under review with the Council) the cost of electricity ( an increase of 30%),increase in staff costs due to changes in the National Minimum Wage, and costs of food and drink, ( circa 10% increase), the club can no longer cover these additional costs.

This is highlighted by the fact that the club made a loss in 2023/2024 season which significant but less than the budgeted loss.

With more rugby being played at all levels there are also increased costs associated with this including coaching ,physio costs, costs of hiring all weather facilities when the club’s training area is unusable and the provision of post match food. With the latter some clubs have taken the decision only to provide post-match food for league and cup games (ie not friendlies) to reduce their costs.

As a committee we are committed to providing the best rugby experience for all players on and off the field so that we continue to grow and thrive as a Community Club.

Senior Men £250.00.
Senior Men Players Under 21 ( including full time students) £125.00.
Senior Men 3rd XV £80
Senior Women £150.00.
Senior Women Players Under 21 ( including full time students) £75.00.
Social Membership £75.00.
Juniors including Colts ( U13s- U18s) £150.00. ( Second Child £135.00)
Minis ( U6s – U12s) £125.00. (Second Child £110)

The club will again be providing membership cards for the 2024/2025 season for Adult, Social Members and Vice Presidents which will enable members to get 10% of bar and kitchen purchases as well as discounts from a number of local businesses.

Adult and Social Members and Vice Presidents , who pay a VP Donations, will also be able to enter the Autumn Internationals and Six Nations Ticket Draws.

To finish it is going to be a challenging 2024/2025 as regards finances. The club will be holding events to grow its commercial revenue. The club will also be looking to build closer relationships with local businesses to grow it sponsorship income.

What does not help the club compared to other local clubs is that we cannot charge spectators to watch a game and we are also not allowed by the Crown and Council to have permanent sponsorship banners around the club’s first team pitch.
