Windsor Minis Festival Sunday 5th October
This Sunday we'll be hosting one of the largest minis rugby festivals and we can't wait to welcome over 1000 boys and girls to Home Park. Run each year by the WRFC U12s, the Windsor Minis Festival is one of the biggest fundraising dates in their calendar, with all proceeds going towards the Minis Tour.
U7s and U8s
Some of our youngest minis will get to experience their very first tag tournament with the WRFC U7s led by head coach Neil Baggett and WRFC U8s led by head coach Phil Pentland. Neil has said "all the coaches are looking forward to our first tournament as U7s and the kids enjoying some great matches."
U9s, U10s and U11s
U9s will be looking forward to their first tournament of contact rugby and WRFC coach Pat Birch says "we've had lots of new starters this season and we are excited for them to enjoy their first tournament and to put into practice our tackling!"
U9s U10s and U11s will be all be towards the top end of Home Park near pitch 4. Many of our players got some great tournament experience for the 2024-25 tour to Minehead Butlins and the Tigers Challenge.
Good luck to every team taking part!
WRFC U12s
It's tradition for the U12s coaching team and parents to run the festival with players helping out on the day. A lot of work goes into making the festival a great experience for players and spectators and we'd like to thank the organising committee for all their many, many hours of work so far. It doesn't go unnoticed! So do say hello to some of the team on the day if you can; they'll be either on the BBQ, or selling sweets and cakes, or walking around in hi-vis jackets.
We're also pleased to confirm our partnership club Ealing Trailfinders will be there on the day cheering the players on and providing a break out space for kids to have fun in-between games.
And finally our WRFC Minis Festival is organised and run with TREDS always at the forefront of play and spectating. Please remember: these are just children, we are all volunteers, this is not the World Cup and the referees are human.
We're really looking forward to welcoming you all for a great day of rugby.
