Pre- Season Review:
Both the Senior Men and Women pre-season training is well underway with the Senior Men hosting the Coldstream Guards at Home Park last weekend it was an entertaining match to start the season.
Their next match is on Friday 22nd August 2025 ( tonight) away at Chiswick RFC. Kick Off 7.45pm.
The Senior Women’s campaign is going well with new players joining. Over 20 players from Windsor RFC and Phoenix RFC attended a joint training session on Wednesday night ( 20th August 2025).
Their first pre-season match is away at Camberley next weekend.
The Colts and the Junior age groups are also well into their pre-season training campaigns.
Windsor RFC are still keen to recruit new players of any ability for its Senior Men, Women, and Youth Section both Boys and Girls.
Home Park update:
Home Park pitches are in a very poor condition with both main pitches being unplayable and the training area in need of repair following the hot dry summer. The Grounds have also not recovered after the Horse Show And Dog Show when the areas were used for car parking.
As a consequence, the Club will be drill seeding the main 2 pitches and the training area early next week at the club’s own cost.
These areas cannot and must not be used for training and playing by any parts of the club until further notice.
If we get the rain or access to water the pitches should be ready at the start of October.
This will have an impact on the Senior Men’s, Women and Youth training and match programmes.
Further details will be provided in due course by the relevant Chairs of Men, Women and Youth Rugby.
AGM Friday August 15th 2025:
I would like to thank all the members that attended the AGM last Friday night. Highlights of the AGM with all the rugby reports will be published in due course.
In the meantime I would like to announce that Sharon Page, a long standing member of Windsor RFC, has been appointed to the Windsor RFC Board as Honorary Secretary replacing Graham Birch who is retiring.
In addition Anisha Oram has also been appointed as Youth Chair following Stephen Golding’s decision to stand down due to work and personal commitments. Steve Madoc- Jones has also decided step back as Volunteer Co-Ordinator.
After many years John Saunders has stepped down in managing the Club’s 100 Club . Tanya Snooks has kindly agreed to manage this going forward as it raises valuable income for the club.
On behalf of the club – good luck to both Sharon and Anisha in their new roles.
On behalf of the club I would also like to thank Graham, Stephen. Steve and John for all their support and hard work in their respective roles.
Congratulations also to Sharon Page, James Brayshaw, and Jason Stone for being voted in as Vice Presidents.
Final congratulations must go to Graham Birch who is retiring as the Club’s Secretary after 13 years of service. To mark his retirement Graham was voted in as a Life Member of the Club.
A fitting reward for his years of service on the Board and General Management Committee of Windsor RFC.
